My first completed pick-up inkle band!
I did about as much “unweaving” with this band as I did weaving, but in the end I am really happy with the final result. The two pick-up patterns are Baltic-style pick-up on 13 warp ends from page 75 of Anne Dixon’s wonderful book The Weaver’s Inkle Pattern Directory 400 Warp-Faced Weaves.

Oh yeah! I got her book for Christmas and I can’t wait to try the Baltic patterns. Really pretty color combination!
I have never used my vintage threads, but I have over dyed used threads to use in my punched pieces. I like your article on marker painted thread, nice idea. I have art markers and that would be a nice way to add a little mottling to my threads.

Hmmm, that sounds interesting. Would love to know if you try the mottling idea.
Very pretty! The one I just finished was one of the 9 pattern thread designs, and I too did just about as much unweaving as weaving!
It WAS a struggle in the beginning but it was well worth it for the final result.
